Libertas Choir and Orchestra conducted by Prof Johan de Villiers
The Libertas Choir is richly textured and its members hail from widely contrasting backgrounds, speaking a variety of languages and representing a kaleidoscope of the culture and communities that is weaved into South African society. The Choir has a repertoire that reflects this diversity, and ranges from major choral works to indigenous African Folk music.
The Libertas Choir has performed extensively in the Western Cape, nationally and abroad. The Choir has undertaken several international tours including destinations such as Belgium, the USA, the Netherlands and recently Germany. The traditional South African melodies and rhythms remain a favourite ingredient of the repertoire. They enjoy performing familiar and popular favourite choir music. Conductor Johan de Villiers always adds an energetic and tremendously refreshing touch to interpreting the music.

Libertas Chor mit One World.

Featuring the talent of IAN ROBERTS the Radio Kalahari Orkes has toured the length andbreadth of South Africa, Namibia and The Netherlands.
Fronted by actor Ian Roberts, performing a folk-rock pastiche of Traditional Afrikaans with authentic acoustic instruments, their music stems from a deeply rooted place, taking in Ghoema, Latin and Africana music and anything else found lying around the dirtroad.
The words, however, are focused firmly on the present. Their debut Album, Stoomradio, went gold and was accompanied by the acclaimed Harry Kalmer play, Die Vloek Van Die Strandjutwolf. This was followed by the SAMA nominated 2nd album, Nagloper, the soundtrack of the Rian Malan play of the same name and winner of the De Kat, Ramkat Award for best show at Innibos Festival.
Played on acoustic equipment nearly as old as their motto, the bands` sound features variously; violins, accordions, konsertinas, mandolins, banjos, washboards, guitars, baritone guitars, pedal steel guitar, dobro, trumpets, contrabass, kazoos and Jan Vasmaak se mieliepit ?Boozophone`.
Wynand Davel -violin, Alicia van Dyk accordion & vocals, Bradley Cooper -drums & vocals, Barry Steenkamp -bass & vocals, Friso Woudstra -acoustic, electric guitars & banjo, Ian Roberts -vocals, acoustic guitar, pennywhistle & harmonica.

Singer/songwriter and triple SAMA winner Coenie de Villiers returns with EMOJI: a shape-shifting album five years after the release of his gold-status and critically-acclaimed album HART VAN GLAS.   This album – his twentieth – is not an Afrikaans album per se, despite many of the tracks being in that language.
This is a rare musical gem: EMOJI is a truly South African album, encapsulating a multitude of languages (including English and Khoisan), and reaching in scope across international borders.  It incorporates the sounds of the Armenian duduk (recorded in Athens), the San mouthbow, the African kora and kalimba and involves a stellar cast of musicians to create a unique sound.  “I hope that every track is like a musical emoticon: a sound-bite that evokes an instant emotion in the listener,” says De Villiers.
