Join the 3 cellist goddesses of Rosanthorn Cello Trio for another bewitching cello experience. Rosanthorn combines the talents SAMA-Nominee Carol Thorns, Cape Town Philharmonic’s Dorette Roos and composer Anjulie Nock. Back by popular demand, this world-first all-female electric cello trio will be performing at Oude Libertas, 25 Jan 2019.

Rosanthorn have set out a compositional and technical journey to explore all that the Cello has to offer across multiple genres and timbres, with the help of South Africa’s top composers and producers. Their repertoire includes recordings and re-interpretations of works as varied as Vivaldi’s Double Concerto in G Minor, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek. Their arrangement of Abdullah Ibrahim’s Mannenburg and Bright Blue’s Weeping was commissioned for the opening of Zeitz Museum Of Contemporary Art. Anjulie Nock has composed new works such as Night Journey (with a stirring Game of Thrones feel) and an original Tango. The Parting, by Helmut Meijer, is a reflective, stripped-down, soulful composition which inspired their first music video. They have recently launched their first full length album (available on I tunes) and a new music video of ‘Secrets’.
